selections.jpg (7181 bytes) Now, we make some buttons!
Select the background layer (with the shape) and use the Magic wand tool to select black shape. Go to Select/ Modify/ Contract and set it to 12.
Select the Eliptical Marquee tool and hold down the Alt-key on your keyboard while drawing an big oval in the center of the image then release the Alt key. Remove the floating selections at the bottom of the image in the same way. It will look like the image above. Save the selection.
filledselec.jpg (3769 bytes) Fill it with black. Go to Select/Modify/Contract and set it to 2. Add a new layer. Fill the selection with desired color. Then use the airbrush tool (100p, Opacity 10) and paint carefully from the top, so it will get an gradient effect. (dark top and green at the bottom)
Go to Layer/Effects and chose bevel and emboss with settings shown here to the right.

Merge down the layer.

layerfx.gif (4098 bytes)
layerfxouter.gif (1735 bytes) Now add a smooth outerbevel on this layer with the layer effects as shown here to the left.
qvicker.jpg (2933 bytes) I also wrote some text between the buttons and I used the same layer effect settings (outer bevel) on that as above.
